Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Pediatrics&Nursology is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles and publication policies.
1. Ethical Principles:
1.1. Research Integrity:
- Honesty: Researchers must present their findings truthfully and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
- Originality: Manuscripts submitted to Pediatrics&Nursology must be original works. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. Authors must ensure their work is not under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere.
1.2. Author Responsibilities:
- Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the paper and agree to its submission.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Authors should properly cite influential publications in determining the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately (e.g., in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties) must not be used without explicit permission from the source.
1.3. Reviewer Responsibilities:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat the manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not share or discuss them with others except as authorized by the editor.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with constructive feedback provided clearly and supported by arguments.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
1.4. Editorial Responsibilities:
- Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
- Confidentiality: The editor and editorial staff will ensure that information regarding submitted manuscripts is kept confidential.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors and editorial board members will not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the author's explicit written consent.
2. Publication Policy:
2.1. Peer Review Process:
- All articles submitted to Pediatrics&Nursology undergo a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject matter of the article.
- Authors are encouraged to suggest potential reviewers when preparing the title page file.
2.2. Manuscript Submission:
- Authors must submit manuscripts that adhere to the journal's submission guidelines. All necessary files, including the manuscript, figures, tables, and supplementary materials, must be uploaded in full.
2.3. Post-Review Process:
- After receiving the referee reports, authors are expected to make necessary revisions and resubmit their manuscripts. The revised manuscript may undergo further review if deemed necessary by the editor.
- Even if the referee reports are positive, the final decision on the manuscript is made by the editors.
2.4. Handling Ethical Misconduct:
- Any cases of suspected ethical misconduct will be investigated thoroughly. This includes plagiarism, data fabrication, and any other practices that violate ethical guidelines.
- If ethical misconduct is confirmed, the manuscript will be rejected, and the authors may be prohibited from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.
2.5. Use of Artificial Intelligence:
- Writing with artificial intelligence is permitted up to a rate of 25%. Authors must ensure that the AI-generated content is accurate and appropriately attributed.
2.6. Similarity Report:
- A similarity report is allowed up to 30%. The report will be reviewed by the journal to ensure compliance with ethical standards.
2.7. Language and Inclusivity:
- Manuscripts must be written in clear and understandable English. Authors facing language challenges are encouraged to use the journal's proofreading service.
- Authors must avoid sexist, racist, or other offensive terms and use inclusive language.
2.8. Abbreviations and Acknowledgments:
- Define abbreviations at first use and use them consistently thereafter.
- Acknowledge author contributions according to the CRediT taxonomy.
2.9. Copyright Transfer:
- Authors must prepare and upload a copyright transfer form when submitting their manuscript files.
2.10. Fee Policy:
- Pediatrics&Nursology does not charge authors for article submission or publication. Authors also cannot request a fee.
2.11. Ethical Approval:
- Research involving human participants or animals must have approval from relevant ethics committees. Authors must include an ethical approval statement in their manuscripts.
